Frequently Asked Questions Bone Broth for Dogs

1. What is bone broth powder for dogs?

Bone broth powder for dogs is made by slowly simmering British bones before gently dehydrating the broth into a fine powder. Simply add hot water to rehydrate it back into a nourishing liquid broth that can be served over meals or as a drink.

2. How do I prepare bone broth for my dog?

Simply mix the recommended amount of bone broth powder with boiling hot water, stir until dissolved, and allow it to cool before serving.

As a guide:

  • Small dogs: 2g with 30–50ml water
  • Medium dogs: 3g with 50–70ml water
  • Large dogs: 5g with 70–100ml water

3. Can dogs have bone broth every day?

Yes. Bone broth can be offered daily as part of a balanced diet. Many owners use it as a tasty meal topper or a way to encourage their dog to drink more fluids.

4. Can I sprinkle the powder directly onto my dog's food?

Yes. Although it is designed to be rehydrated, many customers also sprinkle a small amount of the powder directly over dry, wet or raw food for extra flavour.

5. Is your bone broth suitable for puppies?

Our bone broth is suitable for puppies once they have started eating solid food. We recommend introducing it gradually and feeding smaller amounts appropriate for their size.

6. What ingredients are in your bone broth for dogs?

Our bone broth powders are made using just two ingredients:

  • British bones
  • Apple cider vinegar

There are no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or added fillers.

7. Is your bone broth frozen?

No. Unlike frozen bone broth, our broth is gently dehydrated into a shelf-stable powder. This means there's no freezer storage required, no messy defrosting and you simply make as much as you need.

8. How long does bone broth powder last?

Our dehydrated bone broth has a long shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place. Once rehydrated, it should be refrigerated and used within 3 days.

9. How much bone broth does one pouch make?

A 50g pouch rehydrates to make approximately 1 litre of liquid bone broth.

Because it's a powder, you don't have to make the whole litre at onceβ€”you can prepare just one serving whenever your dog needs it.

10. What are the benefits of dehydrated bone broth compared to frozen bone broth?

Dehydrated bone broth offers several practical advantages:

  • Long shelf life
  • No freezer space required
  • Easy to store and travel with
  • Prepare only what you need
  • Less packaging and shipping weight
  • Quick to mix with hot water
  • Ideal as a meal topper or hydrating drink

You still enjoy the convenience of traditional bone broth without needing to keep it frozen.

11. How do I make bone broth into a collagen jelly?

Our dehydrated bone broth can be rehydrated into a collagen-rich jelly, making it a tasty topper for your dog's meals.

To make a jelly:

  • Add 5g (1 teaspoon) of bone broth powder to 70ml of boiling water.
  • Stir thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved to prevent clumping.
  • Transfer to the refrigerator and chill at 2–3Β°C.
  • For the best results, place it towards the back of the fridge where the temperature is most consistent.
  • Leave to cool for at least 24 hours until it has set into a collagen jelly.

The firmer the jelly, the more concentrated the broth. If you prefer a softer consistency, simply add a little more water when preparing it.
